Arthur student

My move went smoothly, I settled in well and in a short amount of time. I am staying in an accommodation for international students. My flatmates are noisy, and I’m going to try and get a single room starting from January. I need to get 12 credits to complete my semester so to maximize my chances of being accepted onto my Master’s course after getting my Bachelor’s Degree, I have chosen an economics class that will give me 4 extra credits. My timetable is therefore quite full, and I work a lot. At the moment, my grades are really good, well above the class average! The teachers are passionate about teaching, interesting and are easy to talk to. The register is done at the start of every lesson. Some of the students are amazing so it’s really interesting to spend time with both them and the other internationals.

The surroundings are nice. As someone who loves big open spaces, I’m in luck! The university has also organised a trip to Florida and is offering us the chance to spend 4 days in Disney world, and soon I’m going to be able to go on a 4-day hike in the mountains. Baseball and American football season are here, and I got to watch a game, which was definitely worth it!

Access to the cafeteria is easy, even though the food is a bit bizarre sometimes. But I still manage to eat lots of fruit and vegetables at the salad bar. I have access to a laundry service for a reasonable price, and the university regularly organises outings, including shopping trips, and the international student service is there to listen if needed. I have rented a post box mainly so that I can order my books. All in all, everything is going well. I am really pleased with my first few steps into higher education, and I don’t regret my choice to study here.
