Most American universities (unlike British universities) will require students to provide a health certificate and an updated immunisation record before arriving on campus. As each university has its own requirements, Go Campus is unable to provide you with a full list of vaccines required in advance. Your university will send this to you upon acceptance of your application. However, it is likely that the following vaccines will be required:

  • MMR
  • Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio and Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
  • Meningitis (ACWY)
  • Covid-19

Universities could also request that students are vaccinated against the following:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Meningococcal
  • HPV
  • Chicken Pox (if you haven’t had it before)

We would recommend checking to see if your vaccination record is up to date before heading to the United States as any vaccines in the USA will be paid for out of pocket.

You can find this record either in your ‘red book’ or ask at your doctor’s surgery for a list of vaccines you have received since being a patient there.
